Narmada: A River Poem (2021)

Narmada: A River Poem

Featuring new choreography, Iyengar draws on her cultural traditions, compassion, and ecological consciousness to create a range of vivid and timely movement sequences and imagery. There are so many tales about the origin of the holy River Narmada in India. The pebbles rolling on the river-bed are said to have a personified form of Lord Shiva. The dance sings: Let us protect what we cherish , by standing on the bank of a river
