‘Love Lyrics’, an evening of ‘Bharata Natyam’ & ‘Kathak’ (classical music and dance of south and north India) celebrating ‘Love’, the supreme human emotion features musicians and dancers from India and United States. ‘Love Lyrics’ features ‘Vatsalya’ (the unconditional love for a child), ‘Sringara’, & ‘Bhakti’ (the eternal search and love for the divine by the human soul. The performance featured two main works: Sarasijanabha Varnam (traditional) and Dwadasha Stotra, new choreographic work by Malathi Iyengar. Dwadasha Stotra is a literary text written by Aananda Tirtha extolling Vishnu’s ten incarnations.
