Today I taught dancers ages 10 – 16 to learn movement using muscle memory. I made them repeat the same phrase many times till their bodies felt it, and executed without thinking or planning. I taught them how to recognize and anticipate a certain urge to move spontaneously.
I am glad I did not let them videotape the class. I think their learning has advanced to new heights today.
After class I came home and used my mother’s stone mortar to grind the Vanilla Pod and Saffron to make Almond Milk. The taste was rich and intense. The drink was so refreshing after hours of teaching and rehearsals.
